The Council has decided that residents will no longer have the final say on whether a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) is introduced. Up till now, if a majority of residents voted against, this acted as a veto. The Council appears to think that residents don’t value the right to be consulted (see the Waltham Forest Guardian’s report here). However, it’s worth remembering that 58% of residents voted in the recent CPZ consultation in our area – a clear sign that we did take the consultation very seriously indeed!

This is disgraceful – the public should decide. Does anyone know whether this is definitely going ahead?
