Non-FARA events

There are many events taking place in and around our local area. Here are a selection which we hope you will enjoy. FARA has no responsibility for these events.

Leytonstone Festival – our annual arts festival with lots for everyone to enjoy.

Leytonstone Arts Trail – a feast of artistic talent displayed in businesses and homes all over Leytonstone.

Sally’s Kitchen – community cafe Tuesdays 12-2pm at the Salvation Army Hall in Melford Road, E11 4PP. Delicious healthy food cooked and served by volunteers. Free meals for vulnerable members of our community, otherwise donation of £3+ requested. or

Stone Space Gallery – our local art gallery in Leytonstone

Pop Up Cinema – screenings usually the first Wednesday of the month.

Woodhouse Players – our local amateur dramatics group.

Leyton&Stone Designers – holds regular markets with local designer/makers selling hteir wares. New members welcome.

Leyton & Leytonstone History Society – local history group that organises talks and visits.

Cann Hall Community Ward Forum and Leytonstone Community Ward Forum – regular meetings where local people get together, meet their ward councillors and discuss important issues affecting their area.

E11 Market, every Saturday from 10am-5pm, outside Matalan, High Road Leytonstone, E11 – the place to buy hand-made, home grown and ‘Not on the High Street’ products from local producers and makers.

Inspiration Sale, third Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm, St Andrews Church, Colworth Road, E11 – crafts, cakes, cards, jewellery and secondhand bargains. Cafe open for lunch, drinks and snacks during the sale.

Local Nature Club for children aged 7-13 and their parents. It meets monthly on a Saturday morning at the changing rooms on Wanstead Flats. For more information, contact Gill James on 020 8989 4898 or email
